Vincenti Dabitur! We follow with delight
Though paths beset with woe we'll ne'er quail with fright
Though life may take us far o'er sea or mount or plain
From proud and grateful hearts we'll swear our School refrain

AWESOME MOMENTS IN OUR SCHOOL LIFE

MOOGAT's SECRET TO INCREASE HEIGHT to the vertically challenged
Sent in by our CHICKWATCHER Sajid Shaikh

"Go, Shag a lil"  How many have used this advice haath neeche. LOL :)

The Rama Subramaniam "Chua" and Moogat story
Sent by our beloved BAWA Noshir Tarapore

This is what I remember about the Moogat trick.

There was a guy called Rama Subramaniam who was called
"Chua" by Moogat, he was as short as Timothy.

Moogat would constantly tell him in front of everyone,
"Hey Chua, one day I'll tell you a secret of becoming taller".

This kept on repeating throughout the year. Finally
one day the class got fed up sometime towards the end
in Jan or Feb and asked him, "Sir please tell us what
this secret is?"

Moogat in his typical style, at an extremely loud
decibel level, enough for all his neighbours to hear,
yells out "Arrrey, tell him to go bloody shag maaann".

Needless to say, the whole class roared with laughter.

So thats the story as I remember it.

Noshir

P.S. I just dont remember Timothy being a Moogat
student, but I could be wrong.

Shahrukh singing "Chand mera dil... chandni ho tum. chand se hai dur,  chandni kahaan...lautke aana hai yahi tumko jaa rahe ho tum jaao meri jaan, jaao meri jaan... " to my very favorite Sush Baby.

LAUGHTER WITH FLOGGING. A unique experience for Mrs. EDWIN
Starring "FUEL SCIENTIST" Samir Maladkar & "LOGISTICS MEGASTAR" Faheem Shaikh

I  remember the flogging we both had in Std.VIII / IX  from Mrs Edwin(our Hindi teacher-correct me if i'm mistaken here) when we were laughing insanely at some joke we'd cracked..With a set of two rulers, She took turns at whipping you n me alternately, as the other one watched in glee, mindlessly!! !! The ordeal went on perhaps for around 15-20 minuters...but i still remember it till date. :) Don't you?
Sameer remembers this whenever he sees a ruler and Faheem not only remembers this but he remembers more.

BUNKING for MATHERAN TRIP
AMOD Recalls a few moments
I still remember the amount of classes you (Yousuf), Bidkar, Parag, Faiyaz and myself(Amod) bunked in 11th std under the pretext of making 'arrangements' for the Matheran trip! All we did was go to the station, eat out somewhere and come back. I remember when we landed in matheran, we did not even have a place to stay - when we had fooled everyone saying that everything has been arranged. We were lucky enough to find a bungalow up there at the last minute!

I had no recollection of this but it must be true if Amod says so.

THE GHOST OF MATHERAN
Amod reminded me of an incident and I am narrating the "eerie" Ghost of Matheran: It was 9ft tall...

It was way past mid-night and some enthusiastic members wanted to get a midnight walk down the winding road prolly to get some fresh air in their lungs. While we were huddled around the fire, I(Yousuf) had a idea to scare the shit out of the air-freshed group.  I had Osborne jump on my shoulders, him being a little short and the lightest one around, I had him drape my mom's orangish colored shawl around his head which kinda covered me as well on the sides.  We had openings at 2 places, his thobdaa  n mine through which we started flickering 2 flashlights upwards from both our masculine chests height as if seeing boogers up our nasal passages.  We looked like a monster eerie n tall with 2 heads with glowing eyes.  When we heard the guys coming back on their return journey, we stepped out of the shadow and started to flicker the lights and you should have seen Akhilesh, Dileepan, Manoj Medhekar and the rest of the group run in the opposite direction.  They all in fact beat the world record for the fastest mile ever run.  They ran so fast that they went down the street and came from the opposite direction panting and trying to explain all they saw, each describing the scariest ghost ever, mind you they were all different.  They appeared white like egg shells. That was and still remains the ghost of Matheran.  Thanks Amod for remindidng me that story.
Any of you guys recall this incident and more details of the trip?

THIS IS JUST A NEW SECTION PLEASE SEND IN MORE AWESOME MOMENTS.

Memorandum of Understanding

This document is intended to clarify issues related to the funds being collected for the swimming pool at St.Vincent’s High School Pune. The funds will be collected and utilized for the purposes mentioned below. The batch mates based in Pune will hold the primary responsibility for the entire process, with support from others, in the true spirit of St.Vincent’s. We, the batch of 82-84 vow to make this project a success and the pool a pride for the school.

  1. Collection of funds: Why, how, whom, etc.
The past students of St. Vincent’s high school Pune, belonging to the batch of 82-84(10th-12th) have decided to collect a sum of Rs. 50 lacs, through individual contributions. This corpus will be deposited in a bank and utilized for a specific purpose as described later. This fund will be named as “VIN-82”.

We propose to collect individual contributions upto 20th December 2007.

Since the utilization of these funds will be in the school, the batch mates based in Pune will have the primary responsibility to oversee the entire collection, safekeeping and proper utilization. Further, there will be ….. Trustees for simplifying the account handling.
  2. Where will it be deposited and how long
This fund will be kept in a nationalized Indian bank of repute, till the funds have been used up for its intended purpose.
  3. Who will operate the account
This bank account will be operated by the signatories Praful Chandavarkar, Farokh Irani and Ashok Harpalani. Cheques will be issued with all 3 signatures.
  1. Primary objective of the fund
The primary objective of the fund is to donate a sum of 50 lakhs to the school for the construction of a swimming pool in the school.

A part of this fund will also be distributed among the needy teachers who have taught us during our time. The beneficiaries and the amount will be decided by consensus on the 29th December.
  2. What happens if the primary objective is not realized in part or in full.
If the school board does not get permission for constructing the swimming pool, or for any other reason the pool does not seem possible, the funds may be used for other benevolent purposes, directly related to St.Vincent’s High School Pune only.
Some ideas for this are (but not limited to) :
    >>Scholarship fund
    >>Aircon for Gulati hall
    >>Computer lab up gradation
    >>Increments for new teachers

More ideas for this are welcome from the group.
  3. Commercial use be of the funds
The funds once deposited in the selected bank will not be used for any commercial purpose other than the ones stated here. These funds will not be applied to any speculative monetary gains like stocks, mutual funds or similar. The funds in part or entirety may however be kept in fixed deposit scheme of the same selected bank.
  4. Is there an exit policy.
It is assumed that the individual contributes towards this fund in support of the idea behind the fund, and that once a contribution is made, it will not be called back by the individual.
  5. Who decides the application of these funds at various stages, how to inform everyone
The funds may require periodic disbursement. The disbursements at various stages will be informed to all the contributors via the Yahoo groups. It is not required to take a consensus every time, since that would delay the proceedings. The 3 signatories of the fund will keep notes of this every time any contribution is made.
  6. Will there be an audit of the accounts
There will be no audit of the funds. However, all money that comes in and which goes out, will be duly recorded by the core group and made available on the Yahoo Groups, periodically.
  7. When can the above points be deviated, and how
In exceptional circumstances, the above points of understanding may be deviated from, only after informing all the contributors of the deviation, and getting a positive reply from at least 70% of the respondees.
